Book Discussion Groups
The Whitman Public Library currently has eight book groups.Books On Tap
Join us for an animated discussion of a new title each month. Meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:00 pm at McGuiggan's Pub. Open to all.Book Buzz
Join us for a discussion of various titles. No required reading. Open to all. Meets on the second Friday of the month at the Whitman Senior Center at 10 am. No registration is required and new members are always welcome. Cookbook Club
Each month we will select a new cookbook to explore. Make and bring in a dish for the group to try. Leave with a full belly and copy of each recipe. Registration is required. Meets on the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm. Literary Lions Book Group
This group meets on the third Wednesday of every month at 3:00 p.m. This book group will tackle a classic title through discussion and analysis. No registration is required and all are welcome. New members are encouraged to drop in to any meeting.
Mary’s Book Group
This group meets at 10:30 a.m. on the third Friday of the month. Due to the size of the group, please contact Mary Casey to find out if there is room for you to join: 781-447-7613 (spots open up throughout the year). Registration is required.

Strong Women in Literature Book Group
The Strong Women in Literature book club is open to all. Please join us for a lively discussion of a title featuring a strong woman. We meet on the first Thursday of the month. Nor registration is required and new members are always welcome.

The library offers many programs and events geared to the cultural and artistic needs of Whitman’s adult community! To that end, the library offers historical lectures, craft “make and takes” on the third and fourth Tuesday of the month, author talks and book signings, art classes, movie screenings, and much more throughout the year!
