Book Discussion Groups
The Whitman Public Library currently has three book groups.
Strong Women and Literature
This group meets on the first Thursday of every month at 6:30pm. Books are selected with themes of empowering women, learning about women’s roles through history, and understanding cultural differences. New members are encouraged to drop in to any meeting, and this group is by no means limited to women!

Mystery Book Group
Meetings are on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm. Come dissect the latest mind-boggling, mystifying, mystery, new members are welcome to join in the fun. A new book is decoded every month and light refreshments are provided.
Mary’s Book Group
This group meets at 10am on the third Friday of the month. Due to the size of the group, please contact Mary Casey to find out if there is room for you to join: 781-447-7613 (spots open up throughout the year). Unlike the other 2 groups, registration is required.

Computer Assistance
If you or someone you know needs help learning to use a computer, figuring out one of the many social networking websites, or learning how to create a power point presentation, (or other computer questions) please give the reference librarian a call to set up an individual appointment: 781-447-7613.
Periodic workshops are scheduled, so please see our event calendar for current offerings. Topics include: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point, mouse skills, typing, opening an email account, online job hunting, using LinkedIn…and many others.
