Whitman Public Library Policy for Distribution and Posting of Free Material and Community Information
It is the policy of the Whitman Public Library to provide access to free materials and community information through the distribution of free handouts or the public posting of flyers, notices and posters. Such materials are limited to those of a civic, cultural, educational, and/or recreational nature. Materials from for-profit groups, companies, organizations, or individuals may not be accepted. Distribution or posting of materials by the library does not indicate the library’s endorsement of the issues or events promoted by those materials.
Handouts and Bulletin Boards
Size limits, placement and length of posting are at the discretion of the Library Director. When space is limited, preference is given to Whitman organizations.
All handouts and notices must be submitted to the Library Director for approval and will be posted by library staff as space permits. Any materials posted that have not been approved by the Library Director will promptly be removed.
